Whose Promised Land? is the fourth edition of a book first published by Rev. Colin Chapman in 1983. Rev. Chapman has worked in several countries of the Middle East over a considerable number of years. Currently he is lecturer in Islamics at the Near East School of Theology, Beirut.

Rev. Chapman's 's book is intended for people--perhaps particularly those who hold a conservative position about scripture--for whom the issue of Israel/Palestine conflict today raises difficult questions for their faith. He seeks to challenge from a biblical perspective the all-too easy link that is sometimes made between modern Israel and the people of the Old Testament. At the same time, he makes it clear that there is absolutely no place for anti-Semitism among Christians and in Christian theology.

In 2002 MediaHouse, an Egyptian film production company, produced 13 discussion programmes with The Rev. Colin Chapman and Dr. Richard Cahill. These programmes discuss the historical background of the Israeli- Palestinian conflict and the Christian answer to it. They focus on the question of how Christians should view the promise of the Holy Land to Abrahamm and Israel in the Old Testament.

Is that promise still valid?
